About starting a bank in the current economic environment, Organizing Director Bill Smith Jr., of local insurance agency Little & Smith, said, “Marietta is a vibrant community with strong business and industry. We raised the capital during an economic downturn, and we will thrive by opening a new bank at just the right time as the economy recovers.”
Mr. Smith continued, “Ron Francis has been at the helm of two previous successful de novo banks, the former Chattahoochee Bank and Charter Bank over the past 25 years. He has weathered the economy’s up and down cycles and knows how to manage in both climates.”
First Landmark Bank will be headquartered at 48 Atlanta Street until mid-2009, when it will move to its permanent facility to be constructed at the intersection of the North Marietta Parkway and Cole Street.
