About First Landmark Bank
First Landmark Bank, established in 2008, is a state-chartered community bank headquartered in Marietta, Georgia. Even through the first few years with an economy in turmoil, the Bank prospered and grew and has become a success story of how to manage a bank during one of the weakest economies in modern time. During this same time Midtown Bank and Trust Company, established in 2003 and headquartered in Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia, was also managing through the banking crisis that had gripped the Nation.
The Presidents and Chairmen of both banks began discussing the idea to combine their two very similar financial organizations into one in a ‘merger of equals’. With similar size, banking philosophies and complimentary geographic banking markets, it soon became apparent to them that the merger discussions had significant merit, and they began the process of seeking the approvals necessary to combine the organizations.
Mergers of this type can occur and be effective and efficient in a number ways, and both managements considered all of their constituents —shareholders, clients and employees — in moving forward. Following receipt of required regulatory approvals, the Banks merged effective October 20, 2014 and began operating under the single bank charter of First Landmark Bank, followed by consolidating its operations with a systems conversion in May 2015.
The Bank operates and markets itself as:
Cobb Banking Center – First Landmark Bank – Terri Bunten Guthrie, EVP | Market President
Midtown Banking Center – Midtown Bank, a division of First Landmark Bank – Randy Harris, SVP | Market President
Sandy Springs Banking Center – Bank of Sandy Springs, a division of First Landmark Bank – Chris Burnet, SVP | Market President
Following mid-2015 shareholder and regulatory approval, the Board of Directors created Landmark Bancshares, Inc., as the bank holding company for First Landmark Bank and its divisions, which became effective July 1, 2015. The company stock is not publicly traded. For more information, visit [Investor Relations]
