Our Commitment to the Community
In 2007 local attorney John Moore and Cobb County banking veteran Ron Francis recognized that Marietta no longer had a locally owned bank headquartered in the City. Together, they identified a management team and fourteen original organizing directors who would work together to open First Landmark Bank in March 2008. The cohesive team remains intact and continues to serve the Bank, our community and shareholders.
The Bank had humble beginnings, locating in a quaint, small office in downtown Marietta. Also humbling was the state of the economy as the Bank opened. However, our newness and the Bank’s lack of loans at that time was a benefit, and we have prospered since our 2008 opening. That does not mean that it all came easy. The Bank’s experienced commercial lenders worked diligently to bring in new business. Undergirded by strong capitalization, the Bank’s executive management trio of Ron Francis, Terry DeWitt and Terri Bunten Guthrie conservatively grew the Bank, managed risks, and positioned the Bank for future growth.
In June 2010 the Bank relocated to its newly constructed 3-story building on the North Marietta Parkway, a gateway to the downtown Marietta area. The new building, architecturally inspired by the old Cobb County courthouse, is the corporate headquarters and main banking office of First Landmark Bank.
Today, in an increasingly improving economy, Chairman Ron Francis, President/CEO Terry DeWitt and EVP/Chief Lending Officer Terri Bunten Guthrie continue guiding and growing the Bank. The Bank’s officers and employees are committed to professionally serving clients and personally serving the community. We serve on the boards of local non-profit organizations, participate in community endeavors through sponsorships and volunteerism, and contribute to bettering the quality of life in Marietta and Cobb County.
Due in part to the volunteerism and community leadership exhibited by the Bank’s employees, First Landmark Bank is proud to have received the following awards:
2009 – The Georgia Trend and the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Business Community Service Award
2010 – The Keep Marietta Beautiful Award
2011 – The Atlanta Journal and Cobb Chamber of Commerce Top 25 Small Business of the Year in Cobb County
2012 – The Cobb Landmark & Historical Society Corporate Sponsor of the Year
We invite you to turn to us if you seek experienced bankers and lenders in a service-oriented community bank.
